Spreaded: Judge’s Reprimand for Protest Allegations

Nikita Mirzani and her assistant IM underwent the inaugural trial of the Skincare Boss extortion case worth Rp 4 billion in the South Jakarta District Court (South Jakarta District Court). Nikita Mirzani was named a suspect in a case of alleged extortion of Dr. Reza Gladys. He was reported to have a extortion worth Rp 4 billion, but Nikita Mirzani denied the accusation.

“(Really ready for today’s trial?) Ready. This is what you’ve been waiting for later you hear the indictment,” said Nikita answering the media crew’s question.

Nikita is also ready for the conference, meeting with skincare boss Reza Gladys reporting it. Nikita said it would pass on to Reza.

The controversial artist was charged with extortion and money laundering (TPPU) of Rp 4 billion against Skincare Boss Doctor Reza Gladys. Nikita is called a prosecutor asking for some cash so that it is difficult to trace.

First, on November 14, 2024, Nikita through her assistant Ismail asked Reza to transfer Rp2 billion to the BCA account on behalf of Bumi Parama Wisesa. Ismail asked Reza to give a note ‘Nikita Mirzani’ while making a transfer.

Then Nikita through Ismail asked Reza to hand over the remaining Rp2 billion in cash. They promised to meet at a shopping center in the South Jakarta area.

For Nikita’s actions, Reza Gladys suffered a loss of Rp4 billion. Nikita was charged with Article 3 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 2010 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering Crimes.

After the indictment was read, Nikita denied all the indictments of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) on herself who was called extortion of Skincare boss Dr. Reza Gladys up to Rp 4 billion. Nikita immediately submitted an objection or exception of the prosecutor’s indictment.

“I already know that I will do the exception because everything that was read by the prosecutor was a boasting, so many words were eliminated,” said Nikita.

Initially, the Chairperson of the Panel of Judges, Kairul Soleh asked Nikita’s understanding of the indictment read by the prosecutor. Nikita instead diverted questions from the panel of judges and said that the indictment was hallucinating.

“Did the defendant understand the indictment read by the public prosecutor?” Asked Judge Kairul.

“What was read by the prosecutor was hallucinations, His Majesty. Because there were so many …,” answered Nikita who had not yet had time to finish her words.

“Wait a minute, whatever it is, you understand the contents?” said judge Kairul interrupted.

The judge had reprimanded Nikita for not answering to the point and instead shifted questions. However, the judge emphasized that all forms of objections to Nikita could be outlined in the exception note.

“You will respond later in proof, please respond,” said the Hakim.

“Surely I will prove it,” Nikita responded.

Then Nikita’s attorney, Fahmi Bachmid said that his party could not provide a memorandum of exception at this time. He asked for a week to compile an objection note on the prosecutor’s indictment. The request was approved by the judge.

“Please put all in the objection note but any matter according to you, so back to the indictment procedure law has been read, your right to submit an objection and you are not ready today, we give 1 week,” the judge said.

After that, the Chairperson of the Panel of Judges, Kairul Soleh reminded the parties not to try to influence his decision in the trial.

When the indictment was read, Nikita was reprimanded by a judge. The reprimand because the nikit is repeated to turn towards the visitor’s chair and unfocused hearing the indictment.

“Remind the defendant that his legal counsel requested that the indictment be read in full, with the hope that later the defendant could understand and know the contents,” said the chairman of the panel of judges in the courtroom.

The judge asked Nikita to be orderly. This is so that Nikita understands the indictment that is charged with her.

“Therefore, it must be in line, the attorney with the defendant. Do not let the indictment have been read, the defendant is communicating with visitors, so yes,” the judge said.

“Do not let later be asked ‘whether the defendant understands’ later answered ‘do not understand’, so yes,” continued the judge.

Hearing that, Nikita seemed to nod. The indictment reading hearing was then continued.
