The Ministry of the Interior found an amateur photographer who raised a drone to photograph planes taking off and landing
Two drones briefly closed the airspace over Vasil Levski Airport in Sofia. The airport confirmed to NOVA that they detected the drones through the surveillance system.
All competent institutions have been informed. The airspace of the airport was temporarily closed, which is why a flight from Cologne was diverted, which landed in Varna instead of the capital. Another plane from London was directed to land at the airport in Plovdiv.

According to NOVA’s sources, a report was filed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs about a person filming with a drone on the territory of the airport. According to unofficial information, the man is an employee of an airline operating at the airport. The man, who is in his 40s, explained that he is an amateur photographer and likes to take pictures of planes taking off and landing. He gave an explanation to the Ministry of the Interior and was released.
