DETROIT – Rapper Skilla Baby survived a drive-by shooting on Friday, May 23, near Detroit. According to Local 4 News Detroit, police are investigating what they believe was a targeted attempt on Skilla baby’s life.

The incident occurred in Redford Township, Mich., near 8 Mile and Centralia. Police reported that over 20 shots were fired at the rapper’s vehicle. Skilla Baby sustained three gunshot wounds, including a graze wound to the head, before crashing into a nearby building. Upon arrival, police found the vehicle empty; a witness had already transported Skilla to a hospital. He is currently recovering from his injuries.

Footage of the aftermath shows the rapper’s black Chevrolet Tahoe crashed into a brick building with deployed airbags and multiple bullet holes. Over two dozen evidence markers indicated the shell casings recovered at the scene.

Authorities stated that the shots came from a dark-colored SUV that fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities suspect the shooting was targeted, though a motive has not been disclosed. Skilla Baby has not yet commented publicly on the incident.
