Siheung, South Korea – As summer approaches, the Turtle Island Wave Park in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, is buzzing wiht activity as it prepares to host the prestigious WSL (World Surf League) Siheung Korea Open International Surfing competition this july. The event promises to bring together over 200 renowned surfers from 12 countries, showcasing the growing popularity and accessibility of surfing in South Korea.

Against the backdrop of the expansive Sihwa Lake, Wave Park, Korea’s premier artificial wave facility, has officially opened its doors for the season. Surfers are already enjoying the consistent, near 2-meter waves, offering a unique surfing experience in a controlled habitat. The park aims to provide “active healing” through a variety of programs and wave types, catering to both seasoned pros and beginners alike.

WSL Siheung Korea Open: A Major Boost for Korean Surfing
