The refrigerated food company, Sigma, will expand its infrastructure in four municipalities of the entity.
The Mexican multinational company Sigma Food announced an investment of 336 million pesos by 2025, aimed at the expansion and improvement of infrastructure of its four plants located in the State of Mexico.
This project, which will generate 300 new jobs, will benefit the municipalities of Ecatepec, Nezahualcóyotl, Los Reyes La Paz and Tepotzotlán.
The company dedicated to the production and marketing of refrigerated foods such as cold meats, cheeses, yogurts and other products has a national network of more than 60 plants and 179 distribution centers; In the entity, four floors and 13 distribution centers (CEDIS) are located where more than 4,500 people work.
The current administration of the State of Mexico, in charge of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, accumulates more than 140,000 million pesos of national investment and more than 138,000 formal jobs, according to the head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO), Laura González Hernández.

This announcement adds to the newly made by Grupo Somar, a company dedicated to the development, manufacture and marketing of pharmaceutical products, for 202 million pesos to increase its production of effervescent and oral solid medications in its Chalco plant, in addition to maintaining and installing a new line of gel capsules in its Naucalpan plant, with 260 new direct jobs.
For its part, Papelera Corporate Group Manufacturer of paper hygienic items, announced that they will expand the operations of their plants located in the municipalities of Huehuetoca and Tepetlaoxtoc, with an investment of more than 800 million pesos and the generation of more than 225 new jobs.
The Net Stores Retail Chain announced an investment of 210 million pesos for the opening of 55 new points of sale in various municipalities of the entity, which will generate 400 new jobs in the trade sector.
Recent investments represent more than 1.5 billion pesos in various sectors such as pharmacist, food, paper and trade, which will use more than 1,000 Mexicans.
The “permanent accompaniment that has been given to the business sector, the support for its projects and the actions to generate the conditions that allow to take care of the projects that are already had and attract new” contribute to the generation of generating a solid economy for the benefit of the Mexican families, the Sedeco said.
