SEA Games 2025: Vietnam Surpasses Indonesia in Medal Count

Indonesia is in third place in the medal standings on the second day of the 2025 SEA Games. The Red and White contingent is behind hosts Thailand and Vietnam.

As of Thursday (11/12) at 22.00 WIB, Indonesia had collected 13 gold, 20 silver and 13 bronze, according to the official tournament website. A total of eight gold medals were won by Red and White athletes today, more than last Wednesday when they ‘only’ got five.

Today’s eight gold medals were awarded for women’s pole vault, mountain biking, water skiing, kayaking, swimming (two), 3×3 basketball and karate. In second place is Vietnam which has 14 gold, eight silver and 27 bronze.

The top position is occupied by Thailand which has collected 41 gold, 24 silver and 14 bronze. Only these three countries have collected double-digit gold.

This biennial multi-event sporting event will continue until December 20. At the 2025 SEA Games, Indonesia sent 1,021 athletes to compete in 49 of the 51 sports contested.

The Indonesian team is targeted to at least maintain its achievements in the previous edition, namely third place. The Red and White Troops are expected to win at least 80 gold medals in Thailand.
