“WHEN ISRAEL REACHES AN AGREEMENT WITH SYRIA, YPG WILL ALSO COME”
Fidan answered the question about whether there is coordination between the “SDF” and Israel: “Of course, the day Israel reaches a certain agreement with Syria, you will see that the YPG will also come.” He replied: Regarding the possibilities if an agreement is not reached between the “SDF” and the Syrian government, Fidan said, “I hope there will be no conflict. As I said, the conflict is not to anyone’s benefit. The civilian population suffers from it. I hope not, I hope the YPG/PKK will do its part. There is a plan now, for the armed elements to be gathered under one roof, to be gathered under the national army. Hopefully, progress will be made at this point. I hope we will not see a war again.” he said. Regarding the allegations that there is a “race” between Turkey and Israel in the Syrian field, Fidan said: “Of course, we do not think or discuss it in this way. If there is to be a race in the Syrian field, you know that there is a sunnah in our culture and belief in Islam, our race should be for the good. Who will help the security, unity and integrity of Syria more, not occupation, division, killing and bombing. He will help in this. We find ourselves in the same effort and in the same effort with Israel on this issue.” Frankly, we do not see them in the same position in the league. In other words, there is cooperation and support with those who pursue imperial expansionism, this is important.” Secondly, Fidan pointed out that it is important who the Syrian people want, whether they love Israel or Türkiye, and that this should be asked to the Syrian people, and said, “Why do the Syrian people love Türkiye? We have shared our bread, our vaccine, our medicine, and we will continue to share. Because we know that, God forbid, if the same thing happens to us, our Syrian brothers would give us the same support.” he said.
“WE SUPPORT THE PEACE EFFORTS FOR SUDAN”
Regarding the conflicts in Sudan and Türkiye’s attitude, Fidan reminded that they had very good relations with Sudan before the war in the country and said, “Unfortunately, what we are doing now after the war is to provide more humanitarian aid and support ongoing diplomatic efforts. We support the peace efforts of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, America, all of them.” he said. Fidan emphasized that Türkiye is ready to do whatever is necessary for peace, as in Gaza, and stated that Sudan is a very valuable country for Türkiye and that the Sudanese people are sacred and blessed. Stating that they are deeply saddened by this issue, Fidan said, “All we do as Turkey is to constantly deliver humanitarian aid supplies, but the geography of Sudan is so large that you cannot deliver it to very remote places. As the Islamic world, we should not see such pictures anymore, we should not experience these problems. This civilization is not a civilization that kills civilians, kills children, bombs, destroys hospitals.” he said.
“IT NEEDS TO PREVENT THE POSSIBILITY OF SUDAN’S DIVISATION”
Fidan emphasized that they are of course concerned about the possibility of the division of Sudan and said: “This is a big concern for us, it needs to be prevented. Therefore, hopefully, the relevant states and our brothers, as I have just expressed, need to have a certain understanding. We are ready to engage in more active diplomatic efforts, but there is currently a process carried out by our brothers. We have respected it from the beginning, we did not want a parallel process to that process, but whenever Türkiye’s help is requested, we are ready to enter. Frankly, we are also talking to the parties right now, “We also talk to the Americans, we also talk to our Arab brothers. Our suggestions and efforts continue, we are constantly working on this issue.” Stating that he believes that regional problems will be solved with regional ownership, Fidan said that this is Türkiye’s policy and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s vision. Fidan underlined that the countries in the region should take care of their own problems and stop waiting for a “hegemon” from outside to solve these problems. Pointing out that the human resources, economic resources and development of the Islamic world and regional countries are suitable for this, Fidan stated that they should discover their own strengths, come together in a civilized way, put the issues on the table, discuss and cooperate in confidence. Stating that the Palestine issue and the effort put forward by the Gaza Contact Group are very exemplary in this regard, Fidan said that the effort put forward regarding Syria is also an exemplary effort. Fidan described it as a historical step for Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt and Türkiye to come together, shoulder the regional problems and do their best.
