The history of science fiction is not linear. Indeed, to exist, science fiction must explore the more or less plausible imagination, while taking into account scientific advances, but also public perception. These three elements are linked and interdependent. The popularization of scientific advances and the collective imagination of the public are, for example, essential to understanding the evolution of science fiction from its beginnings to today. Through a historical and illustrated approach, this conference sheds initial light on the interaction between the public, science and fiction.
