SC State Shooting: Campus Lockdown & Updates

by Archynetys News Desk

South Carolina State University is on lockdown Saturday night after reported gunshots.

SCSU sent out an alert that said shots were fired at Hugine Suites.

The campus alert is telling students who are residents in Hugine Suites who are not in the complex to report to SHM, students in Hugine Suites to stay put, other on-campus students need to return to their rooms, and off-campus residents need to exit the campus.

Part of the campus alert states, “The Homecoming concert scheduled for tonight has been canceled. If you are not a current student, please do not attempt to come to campus.”

Public Safety has asked the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to investigate.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
