Having completed (or almost completed) the widespread distribution of One UI 8.0, Samsung is developing what follows, namely One UI 8.5, an interim update (which will be very important) to the most recent version of One UI.
Leaving aside the beta program which is expected to arrive soon, for all relevant official information we will have to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S26 early next year. However, we already know which smartphones and tablets from the South Korean giant will be able to receive the next interim update and that is precisely what we will talk about below.
One UI 8.5: here are all the compatible devices
Table of Contents
Based on all the information from the various test firmwares leaked in recent weeks, it is almost certain that One UI 8.5 is a candidate for being some sort of major update “in disguise”.
All this despite the fact that the Android version seems destined to remain the same compared to version 8.0 of the interface, that is to say Android 16 in its “base” version (no QPR2, despite rumors suggesting something like that).
This speech means that all devices that have received One UI 8 are candidates to receive One UI 8.5, including Samsung devices for which Android 16 will be the last major update of their career, very simple.
We report below the plank of all the smartphones and tablets in the Galaxy range that Samsung will update to One UI 8.5, dividing the devices by range and sorting them by market release date.
Foldable smartphones in the Galaxy Z range
Let’s start with the Galaxy Z range, or the foldables from the South Korean giant. Ten models in total will be updated to One UI 8.5, starting from the models launched on the market in 2022 with One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 integrated: this will be the last update for them given that at the time Samsung’s update policies provided for 4 Android updates and 5 years of security patches.
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 et Galaxy Z Flip7 (2025)
- Samsung Galaxy Flip7 FE (2025)
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (2024)
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 et Galaxy Z Flip6 (2024)
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 et Galaxy Z Flip5 (2023)
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 et Galaxy Z Flip4 (2022)
Flagship smartphone of the Galaxy S series
Similar reasoning can be made about the Galaxy S range: the “oldest” devices to receive One UI 8.5 are the 2022 models (launched with the same version of One UI and Android as the 2022 foldables). The Samsung Galaxy S26, as initially expected, will have the task of launching the new version of One UI.
- Samsung Galaxy S25 FE (2025)
- Samsung Galaxy S25 Bord (2025)
- Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ et Galaxy S25 Ultra (2025)

When will One UI 8.5 arrive?
Samsung has yet to release an “official” timeline for the release of One UI 8.5 on all supported devices. We will first have to wait for the launch of the new canonical flagship products in early 2026 (which will perhaps arrive a little late compared to last year).
At this point, cascading, the South Korean giant is expected to release the update to all supported devices, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, and Galaxy Z Flip7.
