Russell Crowe is slated to join Henry Cavill in MGM’s reboot of “Highlander,” according to reports.Crowe is expected to take on the role of Ramirez, the mentor previously played by Sean Connery in the 1986 film.
Henry Cavill has been attached to the lead role for some time, and it appears the project is finally moving forward with Chad Stahelski (“John Wick”) directing. The production has faced delays, but cameras are expected to roll soon.
The original “Highlander,” released in 1986, starred Christopher Lambert as connor Macleod and Sean Connery as Ramirez. The story centers on Macleod, an immortal warrior engaged in a centuries-long secret war.
A premiere date for the “Highlander” reboot has not yet been announced.
“Highlander” first came in 1986, then with Christopher Lambert in the lead role as Connor Macleod and (as I said) Sean Connery as the mentor Ramirez.
