Sydney Residents Fight Back Against teenage crime Spree
A community in Sydney’s south is uniting too combat a wave of teenage crime that has left residents fearful and business owners vulnerable.
Fed up with escalating crime, residents in one SYDNEY neighborhood are pushing back against teenage offenders who have been randomly robbing stores and assaulting people.
A series of disturbing incidents in SYDNEY’s south has created an atmosphere of fear among locals, with business owners particularly worried about being targeted.
Now, residents are working with law enforcement to address the problem.
Justin Chan, the owner of Chaco Panda in SYDNEY’s Waterloo, experienced this firsthand when a delivery driver was confronted by a knife-wielding teenager.
“she start yelling at us and spit out, and I wanted to stop her and asked her to leave,” Chan said, recounting the incident.
The 17-year-old involved was apprehended and charged with several serious offenses.
Chan also noted the racial undertones of the attack: “She doesn’t want foreign people to live in Australia… She just kept asking us to go back to our country.”
