Capcom has officially revealed how much time players will spend facing horrors in Resident Evil Requiem. Koshi Nakanishi, director of the highly anticipated survival horror, confirmed in an interview that the main campaign will have a similar length to previous titles in the franchise, indicating approximately 10-12 hours of gameplay.
“The amount of content is traditional for a game within the Resident Evil franchise and you can expect a game time very similar to that of any other campaign”Nakanishi explained during the interview. The director also highlighted that players will have the opportunity to revisit the game thanks to several implemented features, significantly increasing replayability.
To better understand what to expect, just look at the franchise’s recent titles. Both Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village featured campaigns lasting between 10 and 12 hours for the first experience, with the potential to double that time as you explore all additional content and features.
It is worth remembering that Resident Evil Requiem will feature several difficulty modes, allowing players of different skill levels to adjust their experience as desired. This variety of options also contributes to the replayability mentioned by Nakanishi.
An interesting detail about the development is that the project was initially conceived as a horror game starring Leon Kennedy, but this direction ended up being discarded during the creative process.
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series S|X and Switch 2. You can secure your discounted copy here.
