Putin & Maduro: The Silence Explained

Russian war bloggers – the segment of society that most actively supports the country’s so-called “special military operation” in Ukraine – are outraged. US President Donald Trump’s administration has sent forces to attack Russia’s ally Venezuela, kidnap its president Nicolas Maduro and seize a Russian-flagged oil tanker. They are outraged that Russia should sink American ships or even launch nuclear missiles at its enemies. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has not even made an official statement about the incident.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – without a hint of irony – condemned the US “armed aggression” against Venezuela as “an unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of an independent country”.
