Portland State Welcomes Back Alumni to Empower Next Generation of Vikings
Portland State University is seeing a resurgence of former student-athletes who are returning to contribute to the athletic department in new and meaningful ways. These alumni, once stars in their respective sports, are now coaches and administrative staff, eager to give back to the institution that shaped them.

The return of nearly 20 alumni to coaching and administrative roles speaks volumes about the positive experiences they had at Portland state. Tyson Pauling: As Compliance Coordinator, Pauling ensures that the athletic department adheres to all rules and regulations. His personal experience as a student-athlete allows him to connect with current athletes and provide guidance based on his own journey.
Olivia Dean: Transitioning from player to assistant coach and then assistant director of operations for the softball team,Dean brings a unique outlook to her role. She understands the demands of being a student-athlete and is dedicated to providing the support they need to succeed.
