February 26, 2026 took place in the Main Building of the Moscow Pedagogical State University All-Russian scientific and practical seminar “Development of preschool education: features and prospects”dedicated to the Year of Preschool Education. The event brought together representatives of federal and regional executive authorities, scientific organizations, the country’s leading pedagogical universities, educational development institutes, college teachers, managers and teachers of preschool educational organizations.
The Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology of the Moscow Pedagogical State University played a key organizational and substantive role in the event.
The professional dialogue focused on strategic issues of the development of preschool education: training of teaching staff, formation of personal and professional competencies of future specialists, development of practice-oriented teaching models, practical methodological support for teachers and education of parents of preschool children.
The seminar was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology of Moscow State Pedagogical University, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Margarita Yurievna Paramonova and Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Institute of Child Development, Health and Adaptation”, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Elena Nikolaevna Pristupa.
The seminar was opened by the Deputy Director of the Department of State General Education Policy and Development of Preschool Education of the Ministry of Education of Russia Natalia Yurievna Kostyuk. In her welcoming speech, she emphasized the importance of preserving the value foundations of education, supporting young professionals and students of pedagogical universities as future participants in systemic changes in the field of preschool education.
Elena Nikolaevna Pristupa identified the key challenges of the modern preschool education system and emphasized the need to consolidate the scientific potential of universities, research institutes and the practical professional community.
The central place in the program was occupied by the issues of training of teaching staff. In his speech Margarita Yurievna Paramonova presented modern models of training specialists for the preschool education system, based on the integration of science, practice-oriented training and the value-semantic foundations of the teaching profession.
The substantive core of the professional dialogue was the speeches of representatives of scientific schools of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology of Moscow State Pedagogical University. Head of the Department of Developmental Psychology Elena Ivanovna Izotova presented an analytical look at the social demand for the personal and professional competencies of a preschool teacher, outlining modern professional challenges and prospects for the development of the industry’s human resources potential.
Associate Professor of the Department of Preschool Pedagogy Tatyana Viktorovna Krotova revealed the issues of preparing students to implement the tasks of pedagogical education of parents, emphasizing the importance of partnership between an educational organization and a family as the basis for the successful development of a child.
The issue of the value foundations of the profession was developed in the speech of the professor of the Department of Developmental Psychology Tatiana Pavlovna Avdulovadedicated to the role of a teacher’s personal position in the formation of spiritual and moral guidelines for preschool children.
The seminar was attended by representatives of leading pedagogical universities of the Russian Federation – Bashkir State Pedagogical University named after. M. Akmulla, Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, Altai State Pedagogical University, Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University named after I.N. Ulyanov, as well as scientific organizations and educational development institutions. Participants presented successful practices in the functioning of competency development centers, research and educational centers, models of continuous professional growth of teachers and practice-oriented training of students.
Special attention was paid to the issues of scientific and methodological support for preschool teachers and the development of a system for advanced training of industry specialists.
Summing up, the moderators noted that the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology at Moscow State Pedagogical University is consistently strengthening the status of a federal expert platform that provides scientific leadership, interregional professional interaction and the development of innovative approaches to the training of teaching staff. The seminar confirmed the need for combining the efforts of the scientific community and educational practice to ensure the quality development of the preschool education system in Russia.
