KOMPAS.com – It is certain that the 2026 World Cup can be enjoyed by the Indonesian people for free via broadcasts on Television Republic of Indonesia (TVRI).
President Prabowo Subianto’s full support is said to be an important factor behind the success of the public broadcaster in securing the broadcasting rights for the world’s biggest football event.
Main Director of the Republic of Indonesia Public Television Broadcasting Agency (LPP TVRI) Iman Brotoseno said that the 2026 World Cup will be broadcast terrestrially or free to air (FTA) throughout Indonesia.
Therefore, people can access it without a subscription fee.
Iman explained that TVRI had officially obtained the broadcast rights for the 2026 World Cup for Indonesia after reaching an agreement with FIFA.

The tournament will be held in three countries, namely the United States, Canada and Mexico.
All matches will be broadcast simultaneously on the TVRI Sport and TVRI National channels in the period 11 June to 19 July 2026, from 23.00 WIB to 11.00 WIB.
“The 2026 World Cup through TVRI is presented to all Indonesian people with inclusive access, in accordance with the direction and support of the President,” said Iman, quoted from Between.
Iman admits that the process of obtaining broadcast rights for the 2026 World Cup is not an easy matter and requires long stages.
However, this effort was finally realized thanks to President Prabowo Subianto’s attention to national football.
“He understands the love of Indonesian people for football,” added Iman Brotoseno.
“Until then, he gave instructions so that big moments like the World Cup can be enjoyed by all the people without exception, as a form of entertainment that unites and raises the spirit of the nation.”
