Portuguese Nurses Union Maintains Strike After Meeting…

The Portuguese Nurses Union (SEP) said today that it will maintain the strike on May 10, after meeting with the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, stating that nurses “want answers much sooner”.

“The Ministry of Health did not make a commitment today that, by the 10th of May, the day of the national nurses’ strike, it would establish the set of matters to be negotiated, the topics to be negotiated and the negotiating agenda”, said the president of the SEP, José Carlos Martins, outside the Ministry of Health, in Lisbon.

The SEP scheduled a national strike for May 10th, with a rally at 11:00 in Campo Pequeno, in Lisbon.
