Portugal Earthquake: Moderate Tremor Felt in North & Central Regions

An earthquake of moderate intensity was felt at around 00:38 on Saturday in the Center and North of Portugal. The earthquake of 4.1 degrees of estimated magnitude, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), had an epicenter between Celorico da Beira and Fornos de Algodres, in the district of Guarda, 20 kilometers deep.

Testimonies collected in site do Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (CEM) indicate that the earthquake was felt by the population in a wide area from Ferreira do Zêzere, in the south, to Barcelos, in the north, including in Coimbra, Porto, Viseu or Covilhã.

To date, there is no news of damage resulting from this phenomenon.
