The Portland squad took an early lead, scoring in the second inning when Tyler Miller singled and later scored on a double by Mark Kolozsvary.

Hartford responded in the fourth inning, with Braiden Ward scoring on a groundout by Bryant Betancourt after stealing second base. Jose Torres then doubled, driving in another run to give the yard Goats a 2-1 advantage.

The Yard Goats extended their lead in the seventh inning. Jose Cordova singled and stole second,followed by a walk to Zach kokoska. Cole Carrigg then singled, bringing Cordova home and making it 3-1.

The Sea Dogs narrowed the deficit in the bottom of the seventh. Miller walked, Kolozsvary singled, and Max Ferguson walked to load the bases. Corey Rosier walked, forcing in Miller to reduce the lead to 3-2.

Hartford added an insurance run in the ninth when Kokoska doubled and scored on a single by Dyan Jorge.

Pitching Performances

Austin gomber, on a Major League rehab assignment, pitched 4.0 innings, allowing one earned run on two hits. Victor Juarez (4-1), with a 4.55 ERA, earned the win, pitching 2.0 shutout innings. David sandlin (3-2), with a 3.86 ERA, took the loss, allowing three earned runs over 6.0 innings.Brayan Castillo secured the save with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.

The series is set to continue Thursday morning at 11:00 AM, with Connelly Early (4-0, 2.14 ERA) scheduled to start for the Sea Dogs and Connor staine (1-4, 4.42 ERA) for the Yard Goats.
