Adrian Tekliński, whose doping accident shocked the cycling community, admits that the decision to use EPO ended his track career. In an interview with Radio “Jedynka” he talked about his thoughts. He admitted that he was trying to understand why he took illegal actions at the end of his sports career.
The former cyclist returned to the lifestyle change that followed the pandemic. During this period, he combined his sports career with professional work, which resulted from the desire to provide financial security for his family. Although he always had other goals than just making money, his life situation forced him to take a different approach.
– Responsibility for the family took over a bit and I was determined to stay in sports as long as possible – says Tekliński.

– It was hard for me to accept that I did it to myself. Simply. This was probably the hardest thing and that’s why I didn’t want to explain it or comment on it, because I knew it was so stupid and unnecessary. I hurt myself. I burned all the bridges and took away the opportunity to continue my career and be in sports, in cycling, where I really wanted to stay – adds Tekliński.
Tekliński emphasizes that the unpleasant experience related to doping has become the most difficult life lesson for him. He let himself down, which is why he went through a period of “sports mourning“.
Despite the initial problems, Tekliński decided to build his life anew and find a new path. That’s why he got involved in new projects that allow him to pursue other areas.
Currently, the former cyclist successfully runs an e-commerce company. The start-up he started focuses on creating and introducing new brands to the market, together with a team of professionals and investors who trust him.
Adrian Tekliński is currently 36 years old, during his sports career he specialized in sprinting competitions. He was a multiple medalist of the Polish Championships and regularly represented the country on the international arena – in the European Championships and the World Cup.
