Police Training Event | Information Session

The employment agency’s career information center invites you to an information event for prospective school leavers where they can find out about police training. The question is “Providing order and security in uniform – a dream job for many school leavers. But can it be fulfilled?” and will take place on Thursday, January 15th at 2 p.m. for the Federal Police and at 3 p.m. for the State Police in the Career Information Center (BiZ) of the Bergisch Gladbach Employment Agency at Bensberger Straße 85.

The invitation states: “Basically, police candidates must be physically fit. German citizenship or that of an EU country is a prerequisite.” In a conversation with Carsten Merkel, recruitment consultant for the state police, and Philipp Franke from the Federal Police Headquarters West, recruitment consultant for the Federal Police, students can find out whether they have the qualities that are important for the job. For training with the state police, a high school diploma or a technical college entrance qualification is required; now, with an intermediate school leaving certificate, you can also attend the police technical college in order to then start the bachelor’s degree program.

The Federal Police recruits middle-level applicants with a technical college entrance qualification or a secondary school diploma followed by at least two years of vocational training, and for higher-level service applicants with a high school diploma or a full technical college entrance qualification (school and practical part).
