Recall that in Pokémon Pokopiawill arrive in 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2. There, you are not an ordinary trainer. You play as a Metamorph who has the appearance of a human and who wakes up after a very long sleep. Professor Bouldeneu welcomes you: a Pokémon equipped with tools that humans have made. He lives alone in a once-prosperous region populated by humans and Pokémon. But everything stopped. Ditto decides to act: rebuild this territory from scratch. To achieve this, you collect abilities from other Pokémon and craft items. Each of your actions gradually creates a place where everyone can flourish.
Transforming the land into refuge
Each ability you acquire has a dual purpose. You break walls with Rock Burst, you make plants germinate with Foliage, you cross mountains with Gliding, you cross water with Surf. These gestures shape the territory around you.
Pokémon that live near you are not passive. They ask you things: light a fire, build a shelter, jump rope with a vine. You respond to them and create habitats where other Pokémon settle. Some requests are crucial: satisfying them unlocks the development of entire regions.
Up to four players can progress together and build this shared world. You can personalize your appearance, decorate your space with furniture and objects that you make yourself.
New Pokémon
Professor Bouldeneu is not the only atypical Pokémon you will encounter.
- Pickaxe looks like a Pikachu, but pale with floppy ears. There’s something unsettling about his fur, a color you’ve never seen before.
- Mossy Snorlax is covered with moss. A flower grows on his head. He’s been sleeping for so long that nature has taken him back.
- Master Queulorior wears vibrant colors. He uses his tail like a paintbrush: he is an artist in action.
