According to witnesses, the plane appeared to experience difficulties before crash-landing on the golf course. The aircraft sustained damage to its wing and landing gear.

One witness described the scene in a TikTok video, stating the aircraft “just fell out of the sky.” Another witness recounted hearing a loud noise followed by a “bang,” noting that some golfers continued playing as if nothing had happened.

Keanu Turnewich told ABC he was waiting for a friend when he saw a “nice big shadow came over the top.” He initially thought it was a bird, but then saw the plane close enough that he “could have thrown a club up and hit it.”

Witness Accounts of the Incident

“It was crazy, we literally just heard this noise, and then all of a sudden it went bang.”

Turnewich further explained the immediate aftermath: “It was dead silence. About 30 seconds later, we had a big crunching sound…then all the ambulances and everything started coming past and sirens for 20, 30 minutes. By the time we got back up around, there was an airplane on the golf course.”

Another witness at kitcher Park told ABC they saw the plane flying erratically before the crash. “I was talking to another lady and we just saw the plane come up from the south, and then head back down to the south, and then come back up to the north and dip its wings.”

The witness, who is a lifesaver, initially feared a mass casualty event. “I’m a lifesaver, I’m in the area, I don’t know if I have to go and help, I thought there were mass casualties.”

Flight data indicates the plane departed from Shellharbour, near Wollongong, with a stopover in Camden before heading north.Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
