In preventing crimes against public health, the Second Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for Crime Prevention of Piura carried out a joint preventive action with the Executive Directorate of Health Regulation and Supervision of the Regional Health Directorate of Piura (Diresa) and the Fiscal Police.
The provincial prosecutor Berena Ballesteros Vigil and the provincial deputy prosecutor Manuel Mena Ruiz, with representatives of the entities, intervened four pharmacies located in the districts of Piura, Castilla and Tambogrande.
During the inspection, the authorities confirmed the existence of various expired and allegedly counterfeit pharmaceutical products, medical devices and health products. The products were seized by the competent health authority, in accordance with current regulations.
Likewise, the four pharmacies intervened were closed by Diresa personnel, in addition, one for not having a pharmaceutical chemist and another for not having a health authorization to operate as a pharmacy.
