A volunteer from French Red Cross of theHérault was violently attacked this Wednesday, December 10, 2025 in the morning, at Pézenaswhile he was carrying out a mission. He was slightly injured by an individual, in circumstances which are not yet known with precision. He filed a complaint against gendarmerie and an investigation will be opened.
This Wednesday evening, the president of the Hérault Red Cross considers “these acts of willful violence unacceptable. I strongly remind you that any form of violence is intolerable.” The president immediately went to the injured volunteer and the local team to assure them of the full support of the institution.
The Hérault territorial delegation will not make any comments at this stage, as legal proceedings have been initiated. The alleged perpetrator is said to be on the run.
Every day, in Hérault, the 1,500 volunteers and 350 employees of the French Red Cross work with the most vulnerable and work to alleviate all suffering.
