Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the arrest of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq was carried out in the Semarang area, Central Java.
“Yes, at that time the person concerned was in Semarang. Then the team secured him and took him to Jakarta,” said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Tuesday.
When asked when Fadia Arafiq was arrested, Budi said the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) arrested the Regent of Pekalongan early Tuesday morning.
“Early this morning. Tuesday,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said that Fadia Arafiq had arrived at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta after the arrest.
The KPK has 1 x 24 hours to determine the status of the parties arrested in the OTT in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) began carrying out its first OTT in 2026 by arresting eight people during January 9-10 2026. These arrests were regarding alleged bribery in tax audits within the North Jakarta Intermediate Tax Service Office at the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance for the 2021-2026 period.
The second OTT, on January 19 2026, the KPK confirmed that it had arrested the Mayor of Madiun Maidi. The anti-corruption agency on January 20 2026, announced Maidi as one of the suspects in alleged corruption in the form of extortion using project rewards and CSR funds as well as other receipts or gratuities within the Madiun City Government, East Java.
On January 19 2026, the KPK carried out its third OTT and arrested the Regent of Pati Sudewo. On January 20 2026, the Corruption Eradication Commission announced Sudewo as one of the suspects in alleged extortion in filling village officials’ positions within the Pati Regency Government, Central Java.
The fourth OTT, on February 4 2026, namely in the KPP Madya Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. The arrest is related to the tax refund process within the KPP.
On February 4 2026, the Corruption Eradication Commission announced the fifth OTT regarding the import of KW or imitation goods. One of those arrested was former Director of Enforcement and Investigation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance, Rizal, who currently serves as Head of the West Sumatra Customs Regional Office.
The sixth OTT was revealed on February 5 2026, namely related to alleged corruption in handling a land dispute covering an area of 6,500 square meters within the Depok District Court, West Java. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named the Chairman of the Depok District Court I Wayan Eka Mariarta, Deputy Chairman of the Depok District Court Bambang Setyawan, and the Main Director of PT Karabha Digdaya, which is a subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance, as suspects.
The seventh OTT was announced on March 3 2026. The KPK announced that it had carried out a series of arrests in Central Java and arrested the Regent of Pekalongan, Fadia Arafiq.
