“I had the opportunity to visit Masotti’s clinic in recent days, overall I am satisfied. The controversies over the district? I am aware of the situation and the events of recent months. Also for this reason, as far as I am concerned, I can say that I will do everything to live up to expectations and guarantee the best possible service”. This is how Dr. Camilla Pizzetti introduced herself, the new pediatrician in the area who will come into service tomorrow. He will do the clinic both in Masotti (at the health district, where he will receive patients on Mondays from 3pm to 5pm and on Fridays from 10am to 12pm) and in Casalguidi (inside the Community House in Piazza Salvo D’Acquisto on Tuesdays from 10am to 12pm, on Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm and on Thursdays from 10am to 12pm).
The arrival of the new pediatrician allows the pediatric clinic in the hamlet of Masotti to be reactivated, for a service that has been missing since the summer of 2024 after the retirement of the previous owner. And which represented one of the reasons for controversy and mobilization on the part of residents even during last summer, together with the difficulties in identifying a new general practitioner. At least until the announcement by the local health authority and the municipal administration of the identification of the current doctor, Dr. Tito Filippo Rastelli, to replace Dr. Francesco Colombo. This brought to an end an event which had seen dozens and dozens of residents mobilize in the previous months, organizing a series of sit-ins to highlight the critical issue.
The request for a second general practitioner remains in place as per the ASL announcement last summer, following the resignation of a doctor.
But with the arrival of the new pediatrician, the Masotti district will at least see the number of professionals increase to two. The ASL recalled that the choice of the new doctor can be made by going to the health registry offices, via email or online. Access to digital services is possible through the Tuscany Region Medical Exchange portal or the Open Toscana platform by selecting the appropriate service.
