The chairman of the PDI Perjuangan DPP, Deddy Sitorus, did not accept that the chairman of the party who was also the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, had his name dragged into the case of alleged fake diplomas of the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). This follows up on a statement by Democratic Party politician, Andi Arief, who stated that the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), felt disturbed by being linked to the issue of fake diplomas and was considered to be collaborating with Megawati.
“This is an attempt by people who feel cornered about fake diplomas to divert the issue, so that it looks like they are being wronged politically. Even though it is very clear that the groups and people making a fuss about the diplomas are groups and people who are at odds with those accused of using fake diplomas since the 2014 election,” said Deddy to journalists, Wednesday (31/12/2025).
Deddy stated that the issue of diplomas was in the realm of law and ethics, not a political issue. Deddy believes it is natural and appropriate for the Democrats to take legal steps regarding these accusations.

“The issue of diplomas is a legal and ethical matter, not a political issue. My response is that it is very natural and appropriate for the party making the accusation to be brought to justice so that the light is clear and there is a deterrent effect,” he said.
This member of Commission II DPR RI said that it was not Megawati’s specialty to play behind in politics. According to him, Megawati is a warrior figure who will not attack other parties.
“It’s not in Mrs. Megawati’s class to play politics behind her back. Mrs. Mega’s political path is the path of chivalry. Not the path of a coward, borrowing someone’s hand or mouth to attack another party. That is a cowardly character,” he said.
Previously, Democratic Party politician, Andi Arief, said that SBY felt disturbed because he was linked to the issue of Jokowi’s fake diploma. SBY, said Andi Arief, is considering legal action against the party who dragged his name into the issue of Jokowi’s diploma.
In a video statement, Wednesday (31/12), Andi Arief admitted that he had recently met SBY. Andi Arief said that SBY was not involved at all in the issue of Jokowi’s diploma and he was disturbed by this.
“I met Pak SBY a few days ago, Pak SBY was quite disturbed by this issue because it was not true that it was said that Pak SBY was behind this fake diploma issue or it was even said that Pak SBY collaborated with Mrs. Megawati in exposing the issue of Pak Jokowi’s fake diploma,” said Andi Arief.
Andi Arief said that the parties who dragged SBY into the vortex of this issue were anonymous accounts on social media. They already know the affiliation of the anonymous account.
“There is very massive slander carried out by mostly anonymous accounts that we know where they are affiliated with, which makes slanderous news as if Mr SBY is behind the issue of Mr Jokowi’s fake diploma which is currently in the midst of a feud between Mr Jokowi and Roy Suryo et al. This is certainly very disturbing,” he said.
