Philippines To Experience Extended Rains Due to Multiple Weather Systems, PAGASA Reports
MANILA – Filipinos brace for more rain as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced the persistence of wet weather in most parts of the country.
Key Weather Patterns
The shear line will cause scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in the Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, and Aurora.
Meanwhile, Caraga and Davao will face similar conditions, driven by the easterlies.
Risk of Flooding and Landslides
PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy rains in these regions could lead to flash floods or landslides.
Influence of Northeast Monsoon
The northeast monsoon, also known as “amihan,” will bring rains to Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon. Light rains will also be seen in isolated parts of Luzon.
Other Rain Patterns
Isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies will appear over the remainder of Mindanao.
Wind and Sea Conditions
Moderate to strong winds and rough coastal waters are anticipated in Luzon and Visayas.
Winds in Mindanao are expected to be light to moderate, with slight to moderate seas.
No Tropical Cyclone Formation Detected
PAGASA confirmed the absence of any low-pressure area that could develop into a tropical cyclone.
With these weather patterns, residents are advised to stay vigilant and prepare for potential flash floods or landslides.
