The Principality of Asturias Symphony Orchestra (OSPA) begins the year with a subscription concert, the fifth of this season, titled The Russian shore. The recital will take place on Friday, January 16, at 8:00 p.m., in the Auditorium Prince Philip from Oviedo/Uviéu. The main teacher of the formation, Nuno Coelho, will direct the program, which will feature pianist Behzod Abduraimov as soloist
The session will open with the Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op. 30by composer Sergei Rachmaninov, one of the most demanding and representative works in the repertoire of this instrument. The score stands out for its expressive intensity.
The second part will be dedicated to Symphony No. 15 in A major, Op. 141, by Dmitri Shostakovich, considered his musical testament. The work refers to the memory of the war through allusions to his own Leningrad Symphony and through quotes from Wagner, interpreted as a gesture of reconciliation.

Tickets can be purchased at the auditorium box office, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on the day of the concert from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prices are 24 euros in the patio and 21 in the amphitheater. Tickets are also available on the website www.ospa.es
