Oklahoma Football: Rocky Beers Transfer – TE Added

by Archynetys News Desk

It’s a total reset for the Oklahoma Sooners at tight end ahead of the 2026 season. And another new face is in as former Colorado State standout Rocky Beers makes his OU pledge official.

Beers chooses Oklahoma over Florida State, Minnesota and others. He entered the portal as a graduate transfer and will bring one season of eligibility to Norman.

Beers checks in as the No. 907 overall prospect in the 247Sports portal player rankings. He also stands as the No. 51 tight end available for move in the 2026 transfer window.

Beers is the brother of Oklahoma women’s basketball star Raegan Beers. He commits to the Sooners after watching his sister play in Norman while on his visit. This obvious tie immediately linked OU to Beers whenever he entered the portal, but now the Sooners make it official.

During the 2025 season at Colorado State, Beers played in 12 games overall. He recorded 31 receptions for 388 yards and seven touchdowns with a long of 48 gained. Beers, as a tight end, averaged 12.3 yards per catch and 32.3 per game.

According to Pro Football Focus, Beers recorded a solid 70.2 offensive player grade for the ’25 season, which was 12th among Group of Six tight ends. This included a 72.5 receiving grade, which was 33rd nationally among tight ends and also 12th in the Group of Six. Beers’ drop grade of 90.1 was sixth nationally. He doesn’t have a single drop in his college career, per PFF, with 53 career receptions on on 65 targets — good for a catch rate of 81.5%. Beers’ catch rate of 79.5% this season was also ninth among G6 tight ends and 30th in all of FBS.

Before arriving at Colorado State, Beers played for two other programs and had 24 game appearances with five starts. He began his career at Air Force in 2021, spending two seasons there before transferring to FIU for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He played primarily on special teams while at Air Force and caught 22 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns at FIU before sustaining a season-ending injury in the 2024 season opener.

Beers is Oklahoma’s second tight end addition of the 2026 transfer window. He’ll join former Florida tight end Hayden Hansen in the room, two veteran players at the position set to lead the way.

While both will only be around for the 2026 campaign, the Sooners simply needed more consistency and reliable options at the position. They find that in Beers who will now suit up as the second Sooner in his family.
