NVIDIA has expanded collaboration with several security vendors to strengthen real-time threat detection and response capabilities across operational technology (OT) environments and industrial control systems (ICS).
“Many industrial systems are designed with reliability and long-term operation in mind, rather than with today’s sophisticated attack techniques in mind,” said Itai Ozeri, head of product marketing for NVIDIA’s networking division.
According to Ozeri, NVIDIA is incorporating accelerated computing and AI into the OT cybersecurity area through collaboration with Akamai, Forescout, Palo Alto Networks, Siemens, and Jazi Security. “This effort represents a fundamental shift in OT and ICS security,” Ozeri said. “We are evolving into a structure that internalizes and distributes security throughout the infrastructure, enforces policies at the edge, and coordinates them through central AI-based intelligence. This is the process of applying modern cybersecurity to the systems that run the physical world.”
