MEXICO CITY – 2025/06/05 22:20:11 – Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña, president of the Senate, has accused the PAN party of engaging in a “fierce discredit campaign” against him and inciting aggression towards him. He retaliated by claiming that if any party is linked to drug trafficking, it is the PAN.

In a series of social media posts, Fernández Noroña denied that Morena has ties to organized crime.He argued that the imprisonment of former Secretary of Public Security,Genaro García Luna,proves the PAN’s involvement. He predicted that former president Felipe Calderón would eventually join García Luna in prison.

“These shameless [people] are calling us narcos,when they are linked to the narco,they have a prisoner [like] Garcia Luna. Calderón is not a fugitive from justice I do not know why. That man will end up in jail, he will end up in jail, justice brings together, but he arrives. Each chapel comes his little party, I have no doubt,” he stated.

Fernández Noroña also criticized Senator Lilly Tellez, who called him a “Victoriano Huerta” for allegedly trying to censor the PAN’s participation in the Permanent Commission.

“The lady (Lilly) Téllez García will teach us sobriety, of humanism, he wants to teach history, that is, Victoriano huerta should not know anything, he believes ‘Belisaria Domínguez’, not good, yes it is very timid, if he really were with the risk of cutting his tongue, but he would not say or Miau, it is very easy to wear chicken…” he said.

Future Plans in the Senate

The Morenista senator clarified that he is not seeking re-election as president of the board of directors. A new president of the Senate will be chosen on September 1, and he will return to his seat. He warned the opposition that they are unprepared for his return to parliamentary debate as “Dr. Noroña,” ready to “Give your medicine to the right.”
