Recent developments in the gaming industry have seen the closure of two prominent game studios, Intercept Games and Roll7. These closures come as part of a larger restructuring effort by parent company Take-Two Interactive.
Roll7 Shutdown Confirmed
Following the closure of Intercept Games, renowned UK developer Roll7, known for titles like OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome, has also been shut down. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Roll7 is the second subsidiary to be closed down as part of Take-Two’s layoffs. Severance agreements are expected to be offered to Roll7 employees.
Roll7 was acquired by Take-Two’s indie publishing label, Private Division, in 2021. The studio released two successful titles – OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome – in the following year.
