Noctua: 500K+ Mounting Kits Shipped to Customers

If there are things that we can blame Nocturnallike being systematically late with the launch windows planned for its products, it obviously also has many qualities that make it successful. Beyond the obvious such as the quality and care taken in the design of its products, something a little less obvious at first glance often comes up in the mouths of Noctua customers, particularly those of long standing: the long-term follow-up of Noctua’s support, and the serenity that results from this for the buyer.

Concretely, this involves above all the possibility of obtaining, free of charge moreover, a new mounting kit for its CPU cooler if you switch to a new socket which was not yet existing at the time of purchasing the Noctua product, and therefore not compatible. For a long time, Noctua has wanted to highlight this aspect of its services, so that its customers really have the impression of “getting value for their money”.

It is therefore without great surprise that, when the firm reached a symbolic threshold of the number of additional assembly kits for its customers, it considered it relevant to talk about it on its official blog. Half a million of these additional assembly kits would have already been sent by Noctua on February 5, 2026, in almost 20 years of offering this service to its customers.

The story actually dates back to 2006, when AMD launched its AM2 socket. The AM1 installation kits were not compatible with the AM2, and it was at this point that Noctua had the idea of including in its “sale price” the service of sending new assembly kits upon request. It therefore began with AMD platforms, and then appeared in 2009 also on the Intel side, during the launch of its LGA1156.

This “anniversary” of the 500,000 additional mounting kits shipped is also an opportunity, for Noctua’s customer support manager, to remember a “record” set at the beginning of 2025. Mark Kostenz explains that a Finnish customer then asked if it was possible for him to have an AM5 mounting kit for his Noctua NH-U12P purchased in… 2008. It was actually sent to him, one gap of 17 years between the initial purchase and the sending of a new assembly kit which therefore constitutes Noctua’s record for the time.

A little indiscretion that might interest you: while letting our eyes wander a little towards Noctua’s official X account following the publication of this post on their blog, we came across this message:

As you probably know since we regularly talk about it on H&Co, Noctua plans in 2026 to launch for the first time on the market of watercoolings autonomous systems (AIO) for CPU, with, perhaps, a fairly revolutionary system, if it has not been too modified since the first presentations. Well, Noctua is already reassuring on one point: its future watercooling systems will have the same life extension policy as the firm’s coolers!
