A delegation of national media representatives recently visited the ICMR-National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune to acknowledge and commend the instituteS notable contributions to virus research and pandemic preparedness. The visit highlighted NIV’s landmark initiatives and its crucial role in combating viral outbreaks.

The delegation was particularly impressed by the inauguration of a new High Performance Computing facility at ICMR-NIV Pune,designed to boost genomic research capabilities and enhance preparedness for future pandemics. This facility is expected to significantly accelerate the institute’s research efforts.
