New Security Measure Introduced to Protect Evening Bus Services

A new safety measure has been introduced in Limerick to protect evening bus services from violent incidents. Following a series of aggressive attacks, private security drivers are now escorting the 303 bus services that run between 5:30 PM and the end of the night in the Southill estate.

The security vehicle follows the bus as it picks up and drops off passengers, providing protection for both drivers and riders. This initiative was a condition set by the National Bus and Rail Union for drivers to return to the Southill area. Additionally, Gardaí will remain on the buses to enhance safety.
