Windows 11 25H2 might be the worst upgrade release for an operating system I’ve ever seen in my life. And the bad news continues for Microsoft after they were forced to come up with a hotfix themselves for a problem introduced by the upgrade to the newest version of Windows. It’s about the update KB5072753 that fixes a stupid situation: ”After you install the November 2025 update (KB5068966) on Windows 11, version 25H2, Windows Update might download and reinstall the update. This does not affect functionality. It’s just that your update history will always show you the latest change.”
This comes shortly after NVIDIA detected and fixed an issue in Windows 11 25H2 that was significantly affecting the performance of the systems it was running on. Meanwhile the Taiwanese manufacturer has come up with a new driver version again the improvements they were even close to 50% in some cases. The situation is even worse for Microsoft as the problems also seem to affect hardware from AMD and Intel, but they have not come with any official response.
Microsoft released the new update that fixes the problems through Windows Update, and if you upgraded to Windows 11 25H2 you will be able to download the hotfix already. If you’re still on the 24H2 version, the same one I’m still using, hold off on upgrading until the issues are resolved. At this rate I’m sure there will be more, and with a Microsoft more focused on introducing AI features than optimizing the operating system, that’s what the future of Windows looks like.
