“Preparations for the FIFA Series in March are important. We have new staff, a new coach, and we are really looking forward to working together. I have spoken with the coach several times,” said Idzes in an interview posted on Sassuolo’s social media account.
The 25 year old player also added his admiration for the coach’s personal approach. “He has been in Europe, he has been to Italy to meet me here. I am very happy with his approach to the national team and I think he has a lot of good things to say, a lot of good ideas,” he added.
The enthusiasm of the Garuda Squad
Not only himself, Idzes said that all the players were very enthusiastic about coming together again and defending the red and white in the 2026 FIFA Series this March.
For him, facing opponents from different confederations such as Bulgaria (UEFA), Solomon Islands (OFC), and Saint Kitts and Nevis (CONCACAF) is a valuable experience.
“I feel like everyone on the team, the players, are very enthusiastic to return to the national team after the last time we were together. And yes, we will just rebuild and focus on the FIFA Series,” said Jay Idzes.
