The Los Angeles Clippers lost to the wire against the Houston Rockets and are sinking into crisis while Denver easily won in Sacramento on Thursday in the NBA.
Despite James Harden’s equalizer 37 seconds from time, the Rockets ended up winning 115 to 113 thanks to a tap from Amen Thompson following a hotly contested rebound 17 seconds from the siren. Houston was able to rely on 22 points and 15 rebounds from Alperen Sengun, compared to 33 points from Croatian pivot Ivica Zubac and 24 points and 9 rebounds from Kawhi Leonard.
Pelicans end 7-game losing streak
The Clippers sink to 14th place in the West (6-19) while the Rockets remain 3rd (16-6) just behind the Denver Nuggets (18-6), winners 136-103 on the floor of the Sacramento Kings.
Triple MVP Nikola Jokic weighed in with 36 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists.
The New Orleans Pelicans ended a 7-game losing streak by winning 143-120 against Portland.
