President Karol Nawrocki and his wife Marta Nawrocka met on Thursday evening with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Poland. In addition to diplomats from all over the world, the ceremony at the Presidential Palace was also attended by, among others: the Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Poland, Archbishop Antonio Guido Filipazzi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski, head of the Presidential Office of International Policy Marcin Przydacz, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak and members of parliament and clergy.
Photos showing President Karol Nawrocki and Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski attract particular attention. Both politicians are on opposite sides of the stage where the public debate takes place and they have often stuck their heads in each other’s faces. They differ, among others: in the assessment of candidates for ambassadors in the USA and Italy. President Karol Nawrocki has said many times that two people from the list proposed by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, i.e. Ryszard Schnepf and Bogdan Klich, do not gain his acceptance and will not be ambassadors. However, during Thursday’s ceremony, the president and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had lively discussions with smiles on their faces.
Karol Nawrocki, Marta Nawrocka and Radosław Sikorski
This is not the first situation of this type between the president and the deputy prime minister. They felt equally good in each other’s company when they represented Poland at the UN. Radosław Sikorski and Karol Nawrocki were then caught by an alert photographer having a friendly conversation during the UN General Assembly. Although there had been sparks between the president and the head of diplomacy for a long time, they smiled at each other, clearly amused by the topic of the conversation. Marcin Przydacz, who was sitting behind the politicians, revealed: – I didn’t eavesdrop, but there was something about Tusk.
Karol Nawrocki on Poland’s success

Karol Nawrocki on Russia’s actions. “The goal is territorial expansion”
The president spoke about the dangers associated with Russia’s actions. He stated that one of the country’s goals, “apart from persecuting its own citizens, is territorial expansion, mass murders and attacks on civilian targets, including hospitals and schools.” — Such a country is Russia, whose examples of imperial policy we have been observing for centuries and we can observe every day. Poland, which has bordered Russia for centuries, is as aware as anyone of the threat posed by Moscow, Nawrocki emphasized.
The president stated that “imperialism is an element of Russian state identity” and “serves to legitimize a government that cannot boast of modernization successes or an attractive development model.” — Russian imperialism is therefore neither an anomaly nor exclusively what we call Putinism. Unfortunately, we must be aware all over the world that this imperialism will not disappear with the current host in the Kremlin, Nawrocki emphasized.
