The government has officially launched an economic stimulus in the form of discounts on transportation tickets for the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru 2025/2026) holidays to encourage community mobility. With this stimulus, people can enjoy discounts on plane, train and ship tickets.
“This policy is a direct direction from the President to provide incentives to the community by providing more affordable transportation services. Community mobility is a very important component and plays a big role in encouraging economic growth so it needs to be optimized during the 2025/2026 Christmas Holidays,” said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto in a written statement, Sunday (23/11/2025).
It is hoped that the public can start ordering tickets according to their holiday plans. Discounts on transportation tickets are given for the travel period from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, except for sea vessels, discounts are given for the travel period from 17 December 2025 to 10 January 2026.

The transportation ticket discount program for the 2025/2026 Christmas Holidays has different sizes and targets for the number of passengers for each mode of transportation. Here’s the list:
1) Discount Train Tickets
Discounts are given of 30% of the ticket price for commercial economy train travel (156 Regular Trains and 26 Additional Trains). Quotas will be given to 1,509,080 passengers by purchasing tickets through all official PT KAI ticket sales channels.
2) Discount on Basic Sea Freight Rates
Discount on sea transportation tickets is 20% of the basic fare (equivalent to 16-18% of the total ticket price) for economy class ship passengers. Quotas will be given to 405,881 passengers by purchasing tickets through all official PT PELNI ticket sales channels.
3) Discount on Ferry Transport Fare
Discounts on ferry transportation tickets are given at 100% of the port service tariff (equivalent to an average real discount of 19% of the integrated tariff) which applies to 8 routes at 16 ports. Quotas are provided for 227,560 passengers and 491,776 vehicles by purchasing tickets via the Ferizy application.
Airline ticket discounts range from 13-14% of the ticket price, which is an accumulation of various cost reduction components. Discounts will be given to around 3.59 million passengers.
