Elon Musk apparently asking for help from his competitors Mark Zuckerberg When compiling a consortium to buy Openai worth USD 97.4 billion. But the CEO and founder of Meta rejected Musk’s invitation.
This was revealed that the court documents were registered for OpenAI related to his legal case with Elon Musk which began last year. The chatgpt owner claimed that Musk had communicated with Zuckerberg about the potential for financing or investment in connection with his offer to buy opening.
Openai said Musk had revealed his communication with Zuckerberg in interrogation under oath. Openai asked the judge to order Meta to submit documents and communication related to the offer for OpenAI.

“Meta communication with other bidders, or internal communication, including those that reflect discussions with Musk and other bidders, will also explain the motivation behind the offer,” Openai said, as quoted by Reuters, Friday (8/22/2025).
In the same court document, Meta said OpenAI should ask for relevant documents directly from the Musk and its AI startup, and asked the judge to reject OpenAI’s request.
The legal case between Elon Musk and Openai began when OpenAI CEO and Co-Founder Sam Altman planned to change his business model into a for-profit.
Musk, who participated in establishing Openai with Altman in 2015, did not agree with the plan. The man born in South Africa then sued OpenAI with charges of contract violations and tried to stop opening into a for-profit company.
Not long ago, Judge Yvonne Gonzales Rogers decided that Musk had to face an opening lawsuit. In his reply, Openai accused the ‘fake offer’ from Musk and XAI of harming his business, and Musk had carried out harassment through legal actions and attacks on social media and the press.
