Climber Dies after Fall on Mount Muria

A 21-year-old climber, Jovita diva Prabudawardani, has died after falling from the peak of Mount Muria in Kudus Regency. The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 24th, and recovery efforts were immediately launched.

Prabudawardani, a recent graduate of the University of Muhammadiyah Kudus (UMKU), was in the process of being evacuated from the ravine where she fell.

Moh aris Prasetiyanto, Head of the Public Relations and Admission Bureau at UMKU, confirmed the death. “We just received data that the individual has died. She has been found, and the evacuation process is underway,” he told detikjateng on Wednesday.

Aris prasetiyanto stated that the university expressed its condolences and plans to hold a joint prayer. Compensation will be provided to the victim’s family.

Edi Yulianto,a member of the Kudus BPBD volunteer team involved in the evacuation,also confirmed the death. “Yes, right, at this time we are still conducting the evacuation process… His condition died,” he said.

Jovita Prabudawardani ascended to Puncak Natas Angin with friends on Tuesday, June 24th, at 08:00 WIB, reaching the peak during the day. The fall reportedly occurred at 14:30 WIB, with the victim falling into a 50-meter-deep ravine.
