Monster Hunter Wilds: First Title Update Unleashes Mizutsune and grand Hub

Capcom‘s latest installment receives a significant content injection, enhancing the hunting experience with new challenges and social features.

Free Content Arrives April 4th: Mizutsune Returns

Hunters, prepare yourselves! Capcom has officially detailed the first major title update for Monster Hunter Wilds, set to launch on April 4th. This free content drop promises to enrich the game with a returning fan-favorite monster and a brand-new social hub.

The centerpiece of this update is undoubtedly the arrival of Mizutsune,a leviathan known for its elegant movements and bubble-based attacks.Players who have reached Hunter Rank (HR) 21 or higher will be able to face this formidable foe.Defeating Mizutsune will unlock new equipment options for both your hunter and palico, adding to the already extensive customization options in Monster Hunter Wilds. Furthermore, a challenging eight-star tempered mizutsune will be available for those seeking an even greater test of their skills.

limited-Time Challenges and Boss Rematches

For seasoned hunters, even more demanding challenges await.Players at HR 50 or above can tackle a Tempered Rey dau assignment, available for a limited time starting April 30th. Additionally,on april 4th,a new assignment will allow hunters to once again confront Zoh Shia, the game’s final boss, offering a chance to refine strategies and acquire rare materials.Players can also change Alma’s outfit.

Grand Hub: A New Social Space for hunters

Perhaps the most significant addition in this update is the introduction of the Grand Hub, a dedicated social space where hunters can connect, communicate, and collaborate. This feature was notably absent in the initial release of Monster Hunter Wilds, and its inclusion addresses a key community request.

Hunters at HR 16 or higher can access the Grand Hub, where they can enjoy a variety of activities, including:

  • Palico-Prepared Meals: hunters can savor tasty meals cooked by their Palico companions, providing valuable buffs and enhancing the social experience.
  • Arm Wrestling: Test your strength and compete against other hunters in arm wrestling matches.
  • Barrel Bowling: Engage in a new mini-game, Barrel Bowling, for some lighthearted fun and friendly competition.

Returning Features and Time-Limited Events

The update also brings back arena assignments, where two hunters can team up to hunt monsters using predetermined equipment, emphasizing skill and coordination. Keep an eye out for new time-limited events that offer unique pendants as rewards.

From April 23rd to May 7th, the Festival of Accord: Blossom Dance will transform the Grand Hub with festive decorations, offering limited-time equipment and clay decorations to collect.

Future Updates and Teasers

Capcom has confirmed that another title update is planned for this summer, teasing the arrival of a new monster that bears a striking resemblance to lagiacrus, a popular leviathan from previous Monster Hunter titles. Before that, a May update will feature a collaboration with another Capcom game, along with additional features yet to be revealed.
