Similar post-match celebrations are not unusual in MMA. But Siněščuk, who won the fight with his compatriot Uazirov in the first round by technical knockout, paid for his acrobatic pleasures in the worst possible way. After jumping and landing back on the floor, he immediately knew something was wrong and medics rushed to help him. It wasn’t a pretty sight even for the fans (the attached video is not for the faint of heart).
“Everything went great, I really enjoyed the tournament. The only thing that didn’t work out for me was the somersault, but I’d rather not do that anymore. Now I know that I should celebrate my victories a little more modestly,” Siněščuk said on social networks, where he was sitting in a chair with crutches in his hands. Nevertheless, he did not lose his optimism and faith in a better tomorrow.
Alexander Sineshchuk is in good spirits following his viral celebration:

According to available information, it was not a fracture. Russian media reports that the promising batsman “only” damaged his ligaments. “As for my leg, it’s nothing serious. The doctors straightened it, told me to walk in a cast and use crutches for a while. Now I’ll just heal the injury and then continue the winning streak,” he added determinedly.
The unfortunate moment of the Southern Frontier 9 tournament in Krasnodar, Russia somewhat overshadowed other great performances and the video of the incident quickly went viral on social media. It was even published by the organization itself.
“Alexander’s somersault caught the attention of the whole world and the video went viral. It was, of course, a difficult moment. I’ve been watching martial arts since childhood, but I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s a shame that it happened at my tournament, but such things also happen,” commented the head of the organization Sergej Chandožko for Match TV. According to him, Siněščuk will be able to remove the cast in about six weeks.
However, Chandožko sees great potential in him. “He’s a good, hard-working guy, he teaches physical education. He’s faced various challenges throughout his career, but he’s always overcome them bravely. He’s also a great personality. Before the tournament, he came to the weigh-in dressed as a physical education teacher, in a tracksuit, with a whistle and a ball. He has a bright future ahead of him,” he revealed.
