Columbus Crew Stuns Vancouver Whitecaps, Ending Unbeaten Run

The Columbus Crew emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against the Vancouver Whitecaps, thanks to a decisive goal by Diego Rossi in the 21st minute. This defeat marks the end of the Whitecaps’ impressive 11-game unbeaten streak.

Vancouver Whitecaps (10-2-5, 38 points) entered the match with a strong record of six wins and five draws since their last loss on March 22 against the Chicago Fire. Their away record now stands at 4-1-3.

The Columbus Crew (8-3-7, 31 points) snapped a six-game winless streak (0-2-4), securing their first victory as May 3 against Charlotte FC.

Ibrahim Aliyu put the Crew ahead early in the 2nd minute, followed by Jean-Claude Ngando’s equalizer for Vancouver in the 6th minute.

Vancouver’s goalkeeper, Yohei Takaoka, made a critical save against Jacen Russell-Rowe in the 90th minute, keeping the Whitecaps’ hopes alive, but the team was ultimately unable to capitalize.
