A man disguised as law enforcement, later identified as Vance Boelter, allegedly targeted Minnesota state senators, including Sen. John Hoffman adn Ann rest, according to authorities.

Vance Boelter’s attempt at disguise was flawed. His silicone mask didn’t fit well, and his SUV sported a license plate reading simply “POLICE.” However, on a dimly lit suburban street late at night, it proved sufficient.

At 2:36 a.m. on June 14, just a half-hour after allegedly shooting and seriously wounding Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Boelter paused near the home of another senator, Ann Rest, in New Hope.

The SUV contained AK-47 assault rifles, fliers promoting a local anti-Donald Trump rally scheduled for that Saturday, and a list of names of intended targets. Prosecutors stated that Sen. Rest was among those Boelter intended to kill on June 14.

Prosecutors would later say, was among those Boelter set out to kill on June 14.
