By Invented Reporter | BUENOS AIRES – 2025/08/30 07:35:45

Argentine Justice ordered new raids on Friday as part of the ongoing investigation into alleged bribery within the National disability Agency (Andis),according to official sources speaking to Efe.

Federal judge Sebastián Casanello issued the search warrants, which were executed this Friday by officers of the police of the City of Buenos Aires.

The raids targeted the headquarters of Andis and the Company of Marketing of Argentina Swiss medicines.

according to the sources consulted by EFE, in the raids “material of interest is sought for the cause that will be kidnapped and placed in the hands of justice.”

Last week, Justice had already conducted raids on Andis, the Argentine Swiss company, and the residences of the company’s owners, seizing mobile phones, envelopes containing money, and other items.

Corruption Scandal Impacts Milei’s Government

the corruption scandal erupted on August 20th, following the circulation of audios in local media attributed to Diego Spagnuolo, the now-former head of Andis and a personal lawyer of Argentine President Javier Milei.

The audios describe an alleged bribery scheme related to state purchases of medicines, implicating Eduardo ‘Lule’ Menem, the Undersecretary of Institutional Management of the General Secretariat of the Presidency and cousin of the head of the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation, Martín Menem.

The recordings also suggested that Karina Milei, the sister of the Head of State and General Secretary of the Presidency, may have been a recipient of bribes involving the Swiss Argentine company.

Government Response

the Milei government has denied the corruption allegations, claiming the dissemination of the audios is a politically motivated attempt to undermine the ruling party ahead of legislative elections.

The executive branch removed Spagnuolo from his position, intervened in Andis, and initiated an internal audit of the agency.
